Zithromax tablet is used for treatment of many different infections caused by different bacteria. Skin infections, respiratory infections, ear infections, sexually transmitted infections can be treated by Zithromax. For children it can help with pneumonia, middle ear infection, tonsillitis, strep throat. Zithromax is a macrolide antibiotic. Also it can help with infections caused by Chlamydia but it will not work with flu, colds and so on.
Inform your doctor if you have any:
• pneumonia
• liver disease
• kidney disease
• stomach problems
• breast-feeding
• pregnant or trying to get pregnant
• any chronic illness
• use of any macrolide antibiotics
Zithromax is usually taking by mouth with a full glass of water. Swallow it. You can eat or not eat along with taking this medicine. You should keep regular intervals between your doses. You cannot take more or less of this medicine than prescribed. Use it exactly as prescribed. Do not end taking this medicine before your doctor tells you to do so, even thou your condition is getting better than before.
If you are going to use it on children, you should better contact first your doctor. Possible additional precautions will be needed. Do not overtake this medicine! If you think that you have taken to much, call your emergency room at once. Do not share Zithromax with anybody else, it is just for you.
If you forget to take the dose, you should take it as fast as possible. But if it is time for the next dose, take only that one dose. Do not do it double times. Always keep 12 hours interval between each dose.
You cannot use Zithromax at the same time with next drugs:
• ergotamine
• astemizole
• digoxin
• dihydroergotamine
• warfarin
• magnesium salts
• terfenadine
• antacids
• triazolam
You should provide your doctor with what you are using: dietary supplements, herbal products, non-prescription drugs, nutritional supplements. For sure tell your doctor if you smoke, drink alcohol, use illegal drugs.
Possible side effects about which you should inform your doctor as soon as possible:
• skin rash
• itching
• difficulty breathing
• irregular heartbeat
• chest pain
• dark yellow urine
• vomiting
• watery diarrhea
• yellowing of the eyes
If you have next side effects and that not bother you too much, you can not inform your doctor:
• headache
• diarrhea
• hearing loss
• dizziness
• nausea
• stomach pain
• dizziness
• vaginal irritation
If your symptoms do not getting better in 3 days, you should inform your doctor. If you get an allergic reaction, contact your doctor too. You should keep out of sun lamps, direct sun lights or sun tanning beds, because Zithromax are sensitive to the sun light.
Do not treat yourself, if you get watery diarrhea. Contact your doctor. Inform your doctor, if you are going to have surgery, that you are taking Zithromax.
You should store your Zithromax pills in place where nobody, especially children, can get it. Keep it at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C). And do not use medicine after its expiration date.
