Tenormin is medicine for help to the heart. It reduces high blood pressure and protect from possible heart attacks. It is beta-blocker.
Before use, inform your doctor if you have:

• breathing disease
• kidney disease
• pheochromocytoma
• breast-feeding
You should take this medicine with water and keep regular intervals between doses. Do not suddenly stop taking this medicine because it can be quite not safe. Advice with your doctor first about how stop taking this tablet. Do not take Tenormin more than prescribed. Because side effects are possible.
Do not over take it. If you think that you have overtaken it, call your emergency room immediately. If you are going to use it on your child, consult with children doctor first. If you forget your regular dose, try to take it as soon as possible, but do not double doses.
Sotalol and Tenormin cannot be taken together, be careful.
Additionally possible interactions with:
• isoproterenol
• clonidine
• diuretics
• drugs for pain
• dobutamine
• digoxin
• epinephrine
• drugs for blood pressure
• reserpine
Inform your doctor if you use illegal drugs, drink alcohol or smoke. It will help your specialist to check if it can interact with Tenormin. Tell your health care specialist about nutritional supplements, non-prescription drugs and dietary supplements. Consult with your doctor if you are going to stop or to start taking these pills.
If you feel dizzy or drowsy, stop using machinery or drive. Avoid alcohol. Visit your doctor regularly for checks. Tell him if your symptoms are not getting better.
If you get cold, coughs or pain during Tenormin course, do not treat yourself with overcounter products. Interactions are possible. If you get mouth dry, drink several glasses of water.
You should check your blood’s levels, if you have diabetes. Because this medicine can affect on your blood sugar. Additionally mesure pulse rate and blood pressure often.
Possible side effects, inform your doctor at once:
• irregular heartbeat
• allergic reactions
• rapid weight gain
• feeling faint
• changes in vision
• chest pain
• fever with sore throat
• breathing problems
• cold hands
• depression
• swollen ankles
Possible side effects which do not require medical care:
• stomach upset
• anxiety
• dry skin
• diarrhea
• change in sex performance
• nightmares
• short term memory loss
• headache
• unusually tired
Keep your children out of the reach of this medicine. Keep Tenormin between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C) tightly closed. Do not use it after the expiration date.
